Ted McDowell, Charlie Fraser and Lex Thomas feature in Pirates photos in 195........?

I also found these two photos which were with the photo of the team and wondered if it was the same year.  It is taken at Rugby Park and was the game between Pirates and Marist.  It shows Ted McDowell (lock for Pirates) and I think it is Greig Spencer with him - but is he too young for this era?
Then there is Charlie Fraser the Pirates lock waiting for the ball?
Can someone out there shine some light on this??
