John Faul saves day for Southland Boys High School interschool cricket in 1972.......

Southland Boys High in their interschool cricket game against St Andrews College from Christchurch could not get a result.  It was John Faul that gave a blistering batting performance of being not out for 31.  Wickets were falling all over the place for Boys High when Faul came to crease and change the dynamics.

Southland lost the early wickets of Matheson and Singleton but then Ross Murdoch rescued the situation with 28.
With 15 overs remaining and the loss of their five top batsmen it was Faul and the support of A. Pierce that scored 29 runs in 73 minutes.
The best of the St Andrews bowlers was Ross Joblin the slow left arm bowler.
