Welcome to Yacck - we hope you have great pleasure in reading the stories from the past and would love you to make positive comments for everyone to enjoy. The Yacck Team.
Invercargill dance teacher, Kaye Bemrose, after many seasons performing ballets and choruses of the Invercargill Operatic Society, has decided to go into the field of choreography. The dance routines and modern movements are the highlights of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying".
Mrs Bemrose has four students in the operatic, and her husband Barry, is one of the young men whose athletic ability has been singled out for some of the more vigorous dance.
Modern dance is a new feature of the operatic society and its ballet dancers have taken to the new culture with enthusiasm. Not only is it giving these dancers a injection of fun it is also giving audiences something a bit faster than the traditional ballet.
Kaye is seeing the whole show as a non-stop energetic action. Sets are wheeled on and off quickly and dancers know that they have to dance quickly as well to ensure the story flows smoothly.
The chorus movements are quick in line with the songs of the show and the participants taking part are obviously enjoying themselves as it is showing on their faces and in their dancing.
"How to Succeed" is having its New Zealand premier in Invercargill with a 10 night session.
