In spite of the fact that she had Val Cullen to contend with in the earlier years and other New Zealand champions in Liz Douglas and Robyn Low in recent years, Reta won many a tournament.

Reta acknowledges she has got a lot out of golf but it is time to stand aside and let some of the younger players shine.  She is known for her gritty - never-give-up attitude and is more than appreciative of what golf has given her.
