A Kiwi Shifting in London

Amanda Wyeth (1986)

Shifting homes in London is no easy task! I remember Michael Wyeth (1986) and I moving from West Hampstead to Maida Vale in 2014, we hired a Zip car which is basically like a rental vehicle. We were up against the clock from the start having only allocated ourselves 3 hours to move our 1 bedroom flat across town. It came down to the wire as we pulled up outside Grantully Road in Maida Vale with only 15 minutes of our 3 hours to spare, bare in mind that you have to pay a 50 pound fine if the car is late back and my husband being the thrifty man he is pulled the car to a great halt outside the apartment, we both jumped out and proceeded to fire our belongings out of the vehicle and onto the side of the road (I'm sure our new neighbours were less than impressed at who was moving in!), Mike then jumped in the car leaving me stranded outside our new home with all our belongings strewn across the footpath...but most importantly Mike returned the car with 1 minute to spare and we were 50 pound better off!
