Welcome to Yacck - we hope you have great pleasure in reading the stories from the past and would love you to make positive comments for everyone to enjoy. The Yacck Team.
Woodlands ensured its hope of winning the President's Cup remained alive with a win over Bluff 6-0. No tries were scored in the match and the only real difference was the kicking of Wooodland's Rex Carter who kicked two penalty goals.
The Bluff team is young and has a lot of potential and it will be interesting to see how they progress with a bit of experience.
They should be pleased with what they are achieving as they only went down to Tokanui the week before 6-3.
Barry Newell and Murray Ballantyne excelled in the forwards which gave half back, Stu Cook clean ball which he distributed perfectly to Rex Duncan at first five eight.
Because of Woodland's tight defence and the fact that the conditions made the ball wet and greasy it was hard for Bluff to penetrate the line. Bluff will be a force to be reckon with in coming years as they showed they are willing to play varying rugby and not afraid to try different movements.
Chris Hini, half back kept the ball in front of his forwards well and distributed good ball to first five eight, Stephen Geary.
