Russell Frisby helps Demons fight back against Panthers but it was not enough....in 1976

Panthers took an early lead against Demon in the 1976 comp with Barry Patton and Ken Smith getting one  each.  However, Demons fought back at the top of the third after hits by Rex Pankhurst and Noel Eade,  plus a home run by Russell Frisby.  Neither team scored again until a action packed sixth innings.  
Panthers v Demons - Ken Smith started the ball rolling for Panthers with a huge hit which was dropped by Barry Patton. Ken Rewcastle followed with a hit and Alan Craig's high hit over first base was missed to bring in the tying run.  Another hit was taken before Peter Marshall, the hero of the day with a home run through centre field which left Demons with no answer.

Hitters:  Panthers; Ian Ellis, Barry Patton, Ken Rewcastle, Peter Marshall and Allan Bell.
                Demons; Noel Eade, Russell Frisby, Colin Telfer and Rex Pankhurst
Pitchers: Panthers; Barry Patton - 27 batters, 4 strikeouts, 5 hits
                 Demons; Rex Pankhurst - 11 batters, 3 strikeouts, 10 hits - Jamie Campbell 4 batters, 
                 1 walk, 1 hit.

Panthers v Cardinals saw lead off batter, Terry Butson, give his team an early lead against Cardinals but it did not last when Bill Somerville batted John Purdue in with a two bagger to make it even at the bottom of the first innings.
In the fourth innings Purdue came to the fore again.  Fielding errors cost Panthers runs.
Hitters: Panthers;  Terry Butson (2), Ian Ellis (2), Alan Craig, (2) Reg Smith (2) 
               Cardinals; John Purde, Bill Somerville, Neil Anderson, Colin Dow, Darryl Shepherd 
Pitchers:Cardinals; Roger Keith 27 batters, 6 strikeouts, 7 hits
                Panthers; Barry Patton 28 batters, 5 strikeouts, 5 hits.
