Top cricketer for Southland and Otago, Richard Hoskin's good form has continued in England where he  has been playing for the Uxbridge Club. His latest efforts include three centures.  A report written in the 'Gazette and Advertiser' reads that "Bowlers were well and truly put to the sword over the Bank Holiday weekend and leading the way was Uxbridge's Richard Hoskin who hit three centuries in executive days amassing 439 runs while only being out once.

Harefield will find it hard to believe but his performance against them on Monday of 137 was not his best and reserved that for Thames Valley League match, where he hit three consecutive sixes, the only way he could reach his century before victory was achieved.
In a more detailed further in the newspaper it details of the report were: Playing the Norman Reserves Thames Valley league cricket, Uxbridge restricted its opponents to 189 for six wickets and the Park Road spectators were still on the edge of their seats, when the home team needed five runs an over off the last four balls to gain their third victory.
Uxbridge never remotely needed that many as Richard Hoskin gained victory and memorable century in the grandest possible style, hitting three consecutive sixes to reach both targets.
Hoskin also scored a century against Harewood United and 136 against Harefield.
The paper commented that the feat had Uxbridge 'greybeards' scratching through their memories to recall a similar feat - none could.
Earlier Hoskin had scored 96 for the Middlesex second XI against the Surrey seconds who were captained by New Zealand test captain Geoff Howarth.
