Marist in the year of 1970, from the diaries show that they had a convincing win over Demons 7-0.
Demons for some reason was late for this game and lined up well after the starting time and Marist was given two bonus runs to compensate.
Demon's pitcher, Noel Eade, gave a walk to John Forde and John Walker and Ian Riley both made their bases on errors from the Demons.  Forde was tagged out when coming home, but good hits by Brendan Keehan and Nick Killen, ensured that Walker and Riley were bought home safe.
For Demons, Ken Herrett was the first batter to make home in the second innings after being walked by Keehan.  He made second on a passed ball, but Keehan came up with his only strikeout of the game, to end the innings.
Marist's Jim Egan, hit well out to centre field but got caught on third base when Forde grounded out to Eade.
Demons came close to scoring at the top of the third, after Tony Norrie, on an error and Russell Frisby, walk, made base.  But due to slick fielding by Marist both were forced out.
Barry Bridgeman made the score 5-0 after clotting a three bagger and scoring on Keehan's error hit.
Alan McDonald bough Keehan in from third, and scored the final run of the game.
Marist hitters were - P Keehan, B. Keehan, Egan and Killen, Bridgeman (2)
Keenan - 1 strikeout, 3 Walks.
Demons - hitters - Peter McDougall, Jamie Campbell, and Neil Buchanan.
Eade - 3 strikeouts, one walk.
The other two games were a worry for softball with Telstars defaulting to Collegiate as they could not field a team.  And in the womens game Panthers thrashed Telstars 22-0.
Last year's champions Panthers, thrashed Telstars in a lop-sided game which saw the Panthers take 20 safe hits from the Telstars pitching.
Home runs by Christine Hillis and ex-former Telstar's pitcher Jan Grenfell.
Grenfell also performed as the pitcher against her old team without giving away a hit and getting 7 strikeouts.
Bluesox started their game against Marist on a good note with Ann Rainbow and Glenys Seymour both taking hits.  Marist with receiving 5 walks and good batting by Mary Egan, Gaynor Bridgeman, Bridget Cullen, and Judith Buchanan.
