Hec Mitchell best forward for Wrights Bush against Nightcaps in 1976.....

Wrights Bush trounced Nightcaps in the  Central Western rugby competition in 1976.  They scored 7 tries winning 35-8.

Nightcaps had  no answer the the Wrights Bush forward pack. The Nightcaps backs looked good but it was definitely up front that they lost the game.
Wrights Bush's tactics were to contain the Nightcaps backs by kicking over their heads and giving their forwards time to get up and grab the ball.
Half-back for Wrights Bush, Colin Rutledge ensured that his forwards were kept on the front foot, and with John Ellis at first five this made a formidable tactic.
Set Play was dominated by the Bush forwards with Colin McDonald and Barry Livingstone ruling the lineouts and Leicester Rutledge leading the loosie, setting up rucks and mauls.
In reply, Geoff Valli had a hand in the two Nightcap's tries with entering the backline from full-back he found Cliff Dobbie who sent Max Valli in for his second try.
Nightcaps were living off scraps and it was Colin Dawson who was the best of their forwards.  
Wrights Bush Hec Mitchell was the best forward on the field and confirmed this by scoring two tries.
