Welcome to Yacck - we hope you have great pleasure in reading the stories from the past and would love you to make positive comments for everyone to enjoy. The Yacck Team.
Central Pirates were beaten in the Central Western competition in 1986 by Ohai Nightcaps. This meant the latter team had increased their lead on the ladder with a 17-0 win.
It was Ohai Nightcap's full-back Eric Todd that was the key player in their win. He used his trademark long raking kick to keep Central Pirates on their back foot, and his solid defence also made sure that Central Pirates did not cross his line.
Central Pirates could not win a trick and regardless of what they did they just could not get their game flowing. Maybe they had not got over the Central game during the week as a bulk of that sub union team came from Central Pirates. Bruce Lewis at prop and Ian Harding were the best of their team.
For Ohai Nightcaps Murray Giddens was exceptional and with good support from Trevor Bokser, until he went off injured. They dominated the rucks and mauls and also took clean lineout ball.
