Doug Murcott back in 1983 Southland squad after serious knee injury.....

The Southland Rugby squad was announced in 1983 and was as follows:
Doug Murcott (Bluff), Lex Chisholm (Tokanui), Alistair King (Mataura), Mark Crowther (Invercargill), Peter Henderson (Invercargill), Leicester Rutledge (Wrights Bush), Bruce Robertson (Wyndham), Trevor Bokser (Ohai Nightcaps), Alan Byrne (Pioneer), Fergus Dermody (Tokanui), Brian McDonald (Wrights Bush), Brian McKechnie (Star), Alan Monaghan (Star), Jim Cormack (Albion), Steven Pokere (Invercargill), Paul Laidlaw (Ohai Nightcaps), Paul Macfie (Pirates), John Chittock (Waikaka), Chris Hini (Bluff) Les Roberts (Albion), Brian Dickison (Waikaka).
Les Roberts, halfback and Brian McDonald, lock are two new comers to the squad.  Doug Murcott is back after announcing his retirement in 1982 after a serious knee injury.  He has turned out for Bluff this season and is back to his old self.
