Welcome to Yacck - we hope you have great pleasure in reading the stories from the past and would love you to make positive comments for everyone to enjoy. The Yacck Team.
It was Limehill's jubilee year in 1976 and leading their senior team was Dave Saunders. The team was full of enthusiasm and was very confident that it could win the combined Central Western tournament that year to celebrate. The team was coached by Stewart Evans.
Murray Mitchell was the most significant gain. He had played over 50 games for Southland since 1970.
Having starting his rugby career at Limehills and shifting to Eastern where he played for the Wyndham club it was exciting that he had come back to his roots.
John Simmers, the central winger, John McGilvray, Murray Johns, Geoff Keown, Trevor Kean and the capable Ross Mangles were all back.
Mangles was full-back for the Central and Southland B representative teams.
Saunders will be leading a weighty pack and was well supported by: Neil Collie, Neil Chilton, Clarence Wilson, Paul Cosgrove, David Scott, Greg Boyle Darrell Ward, David Brown, Tom Burgess and Trevor Saunders.
