Barry Leonard scores a try for Star against Waikiwi in the Invercargill competition in 1972.....4/29/2016 Star beat Waikiwi 24-10 in 1972 giving them a firm lead in the Galbraith Shield competition. Star won the game by moving the ball quickly through the back line, whereas Waikiwi kicked any possession they had away more often than not. Star: H Harris (4 PG) P. Jarvis, Barry Leonard, A. McKenzie (1) Waikiwi: B. Lawson (2PG) D. Crombie (1) John Healey scores a try and kicks a drop goal in win over Collegiate in Invercargill in 1972....Invercargill beat Collegiate 28-9 by winning the ball up front and then feeding their backs, which saw J. Eddy score three tries. John Healey scored one try and kicked a drop goal. W. Wilson added the rest of the points by kicking three penalty goals. Collegiate: J. Smith scored a try and G. Murphy kicked a conversion and a penalty goal. Dave Shanks scores one of the four tries against Tokanui in 1972 in Invercargill.....Four tries to Marist scored by Dave Shanks, M. Burke, R. McLean, and Peter Grace with I. Riley kicking 1 penalty goal.
