1981 Invercargill Squash Club Championships....

The Invercargill Squash Championships that were played in Invercargill in 1981.  The seeds for the Men's A Grade is Neil Simpson, last year's champion, Stephen MacDonald, Warren Boniface and Ian Dykes.

Stern opposition is expected from Derek Bulman, Ken McKenzie, Basil Sandford and Murray Gascoyne.
The Men's B Grade seeds are Jim Hollands, Gary Anderson, Bob MacArthur and Daryl Shepherd, but this is an even grade and any one of the 16 players could be the winner.
Ian Folster, Russell Smith, Bob Sutherland and David Wray take out the seedings in the C Grade and Russell Raines, Alvin Thwaites, Steve Robertson and Roger Humphries are the seeds for D Grade.
Women's A Grade is being contested on a round robin basis and last year's winner, Jan McAra, will be the hot favourite to take out the title again. Pam Welsh the 78/79 club champion will be out to take her third title.  Others contesting this grade are Joan Pankhurst, Shirley McKenzie, Sharyn Ferguson and Jean McLellan. 
The Womens B Grade will be keenly contested as all the competitors are evenly graded as Gail Taitoko, Jenny Smith, Colleen Forde and Kay Moreton. 
Womens C Grade seeds are Dawn Shirley, Dianne MacArthur, Lynn Thomas and Sally Robertson.
