I found this interesting article and just thought you might YACCK it to see what everyone is up to
It was the 'going out' of the former pupils of SGHS who were presented by the Headmistress of the school, Miss P.M. Robinson. After her curtsy, each girl received a crested programme from Miss McKenzie as a souvenir of the occasion. The girls and their partners formed a circle, and, after a massed curtsy danced the 'La Rinka'.
The following debutantes were presented:
ANNE AITKEN - Elder daughter of Mr and Mrs A.B. Aitken, Herbert Street, wore white west Cumberland Brocade, with an orchid design. Her frock had a low scalloped, graduated neckline, and a scalloped panel both back and front. The full circular skirt was finished at the waist with a large bow.
FAY BEER - Younger daughter of Mr and Mrs F.C Beer, Selwyn Street, was frocked in French embroidered marquisette over taffeta. Diamante-trimmed peaks outlined the round necklace and the fitting bodice was fitted with a pleated cummerbund across the front. The skirt was gathered and circular.
