Wyndham and Mataura fought out a 4-4 all draw in heavy conditions at Wyndham.
The standard of play was high in the atrocious conditions, with wind and rain adding to the mud.
Mataura had the better of the forwards struggle and spent much of both halves camped in Wyndham's territory but lacked the finish through the backs to put points on the board, mainly because of the greasy condition of the ball.
Both teams had no option but to keep the ball tight and Wyndham full back, George Taylor reacted well to continual pressure through high kicks from Mataura.
Wyndham scored first about 15 minutes into the first half. A scrum was forced on the Mataura line and the ball was fed on the blindside to winger Barry Stewart who charged over.
Mataura replied five minutes later with a try to big lock Gary Cowan. For the second week in a row Cowan gathered a ball from a lineout close to the line and barged his way through to score.
Mataura put great pressure on Wyndham in the last 10 minutes and was almost continually camped on the home team's line for that time and could not breach the defence.
The Mataura's forwards of Cowan, Alistair King and hooker Jack Turnball were strong.
They gave good ball to first five eight Paddy Cowan who had a great game.
The Wyndham forwards did not left themselves down though, with front -rowers, Stephen Lee and Robin Braithwaite standing out and Geoffrey Winter at half back continuing his good form.
Gary Cowan (1) try.
Barry Stewart (1) try.
