Invercargill cyclist dies from injuries sustained in road accident 1958.......

A young Invercargill cyclist, Peter McEwan, aged 20 was killed in a road accident while out training.
The accident happened 1 mile west of Edendale Hill.  Peter was an apprentice motor mechanic and had won the club trophy for the rider with the most points in a track season. He was a top sprint prospect for the Invercargill Amateur Cycling Club.  He also played rugby for the Star Rugby Club in the junior grade.
